Clone from 1TB, to 2TB drive space issue....
Using Aconis True Image 2021, build 34340, I initiated a clone backup from my internal 1TB drive, to an external 2TB drive.
The process seemed to go well, without flags or issues. However, after the process completed, when checking the directory structure space used on my internal drive, and compared the same directory structure on the cloned drive, there is a significant difference in space used.
When checking the properties of the internal 1TB drive, the properties shows 351GB space used. The cloned drive properties shows 285GB used.
Fearing that the clone process might have missed a few folders, or maybe missed copying over some contents within some of the folders, I compared folder by folder on each drive. The comparison shows that the properties of each individual folder is pretty much identical. I did find a few small differences, with the biggest difference of roughly 1GB when comparing the Windows directories. Also, the clone drive Windows directory shows 2 extra folders. But that doesn't make up a difference of 66GB overall space used, when comparing drives.
I've attached a screen snap of teh Disk management tool comparing both drives.
Any suggestions as to why there is a used space difference? I'm a general computer user, and not in any way, a tech. So, please be kind. ;)
