User interface is completely unresponsive 95% of the time. ATIH 2011
User interface is completely unresponsive 95% of the time. (ie, clicking on buttons does absolutely nothing). ATIH 2011. Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Very powerful computer that runs EVERYTHING flawlessly, except Acronis. Thankfully, in those extremely rare instances when the interface actually DOES respond, the program works relatively well. Anyone else having these issues? Thank you.

Yes indeed, I'm having the same problem. I have managed a response only from a couple of the utilities. The main program options all cause the program to stop responding.
I live "Support's" response - run Acronis Info - which crashes every time. And outline the sequence of steps: Double-click the icon to start the program. Click anything except Tools & Utilities or Help. The program freezes. Sigh.

Exact same system (win 7 Ultimate 64 bit) and app (ATIH 2011) with exact same problem as Cohn post on 2010-11-15. Works fine with WinXp. Any resolution to this problem? ATIH 2011 is unusable as is.

Same problem here with ATI Home 2011 build 6597 on Win7-64 bit. Build 5519 works OK. I've tried update install of newest version and also clean install (after uninstalling v. 5519 and running "true_image_home_cleanup.exe" to remove all traces of the program). Same results - program loads noticeably longer, clicking on anything makes it inoperative for few minutes. When it eventually comes back to live it seams to create an image without problems.
Application Log reports the following:
Application Hang - The program TrueImage.exe version 14.0.0.6597 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Isn't it interesting that Acronis cares not one whit about this problem? A canned response then they ignore us.
How on earth does Acronis EVER get a good review from legitimate reviewers? I had heard nothing but good about Acronis, until I actually spent money and purchased the program. Now I find I might as well have tossed the money into a storm drain...
I certainly plan to blog and post as much negative info in Facebook as I can manage!

Well, i've tried the latest version: Acronis True Image Home 2011 v14.0.0.6597 and it was freezing 99% of the time. Almost every click i was trying to make resulted in a freezing program. And i have a top of the line PC. I've tried disabling antivirus/firewall... everything else. Then i've tried an older version (v14.0.0.6574)... then tried Acronis True Image Home 2011 Cleanup Utility... nothing helped. I've used Acronis products in the pasts, but never had such problems.
FYI, i have the fastest SSD on the market, paired with 16GB of DDR3 2000Mhz, i7 at 4Ghz, backing up on a 10TB RAID5 Intel RS2BL080. Everything else works flawlessly on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64... except Acronis True Image Home. I used to recommend Acronis products in the pasts... but untill i can't see they solved this problem, i can't do that anymore.

Just checking back in. Latest updates installed (after cleaned, reinstalled, etc, etc). At least Acronis is consistent. It is STILL the worst piece of software I have ever paid for. Everything else on my (very powerful, well maintained, Windows 7 Ultimate x64) computer works flawlessly. . . except Acronis. User interface is completely unresponsive 95% of the time. (ie, clicking on buttons does absolutely nothing). Acronis 2011 is a massive waste of time and money.

Hello all,
Thank you for your comments. I'm really sorry for you've faced this issue, and I entirely share your frustration.
I would like to inform you that Development team is aware of the issue, and currently working on finding a fiix. As a temporary workaround we would suggest you to switch on all the offline network resources like mapped drives, NAS, printer, etc., as it is one of the reasons why the product starts to freeze.
We would appreciate if any of you could submit a support case with the information requested, and let me know its number, as this diagnostic data will help to shed the light at the situation and speed up the process of finding a fix.
Let us know whether you have any concerns or questions, we will be glad to help.
Thank you!

I have used 'Acronis Backup and Security 2010' for one month (and one day) and was swayed to purchasing the product as I was under the misguided impression that the Acronis brand stood for quality. I was wrong, badly wrong!
I am, like other posters on this thread, fed up with my computers freezing up. This happens frequently but mainly when I am backing up. The application windows and dialog boxes become unresponsive and I end up killing the process to reclaim my computer. Another extremely annoying 'feature' is a pop-up message in the bottom right hand corner of my screen that informs me every 10-15 seconds that my backup process has started. Which numpty developer thought that would be a good idea? There is no way of getting rid of it and it has become such a major irritant, especially when backups take some time.
I have had enough, and must agree with Tuolumne Kenny in saying that I feel that this product is a total waste of money. I shall be returning to Kaspersky, and iDrive for my backups, because both products just work!
Acronis, you should stop selling this product until you get it sorted out. Selling it when you know there are major problems is akin to theft by deception! Oh, and by the way can I claim a refund?
