Installing active protection for 40729
After successfully updating to 40729; and then attempting to install "Active Protection", I got the following error message:
"An installation for Acronis Drivers is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes?"

No. I simply used the update button within Cyber Protect to go to the current version. There was one funny thing, the "Updating" window never completed, altho the progress bar seemed to have progressed all the way to the right. I let it run for 8+ hours, and finally just canceled it. I rebooted, and Cyber Protect came up as usual. I checked to see if the version number was updated, and it was. All seemed normal. Active Protection was off, and there was a button there to install it; so I did. The install seemed to go along fine, until I got that msg. Cyber Protect is working fine, and Active Protect is still off.

Hello.
I am glad you managed to solve the issue.
I want to add another approach to solve the issue:
- Restart your computer and try to update the application manually.
--- Download link: https://download.acronis.com/AcronisCyberProtectHomeOffice.exe
That should solve the issue.
Best regards.

You can call this report "solved" if you like, but how and why I got the error message is not known. I attempted to update the application manually, but Active Protection remained off with no way to turn it on. ACPH continued to ask me to install Active Protection first, but although it looked like something installed (i.e., the "Modify" progress bar showed the install and then completed), nothing changed (even after re-boots etc). I was never able to get Active Protection turned on.
I finally uninstalled ACPC totally and re-installed. I did save my configuration and then restore it. That worked! Now both backups and protection are working normally. Of course I did have to go thru the hassle of adding existing backup files to the newly restored backups.

The probable root of the issue was a corrupt installation. It is impossible to be 100% sure without the logs but I would say that.
Best regards.
