NTLDR missing

Thread needs solution

I would like to restore my Acronis backup, but when I do so and restart it says « NTLDR missing« and prompts a reboot. My Acronis Version is Acronis True Image Version 9.0 build 2.337.

Regards,
Roman

Make sure that the partition that contains your system is set to active. You can make a partition active by using your windows installation DVD, launching a command prompt and using the DISKPART command.

When you restore, ATI lets you specify that the boot partition should be active.

Also, go into BIOS and check the Boot devices and boot sequence.

Also, was your backup of the entire system partition rather than a file backup? You want to restore a partition (and usually the MBR and Disk Signature) if you're trying to get a system onto the drive.

Also, depending on which Os this was, some use a hidden partition for system fiels (Vista, e.g.,) so you might need to have that partition too.

Hello Roman, Pat and Scott,

Roman, let me provide you with additional assistance. Just in case, you can check the solution from this KB article and if you are still having issues please get back to us with the Acronis report.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Roman,

If you plan to continue using TI 9, I would recommend updating it to at least build 3,667. The early builds were very buggy (which may be the source of the problem). You should be able to download the latest build from your Acronis account.
