Non stop back up fails to write to disk
I have Acronis 2010 latest build and after working for sometime it will no longer write to the backup hard drive aseagate 500Gb with 25GB used to date.
Messages continually arrive saying Windows failed to write to disk the following file XXXXXXXXXXX
I have checked the disk concerned and it operates correctly with no bad sectors etc. I have reinstalled it using a different USB port etc but I always get the same result.
Windows recognizes the drive and can show the contents but not Acronis 2010.
Could someone offer me a possible solution - we are constantly travelling and I need to ensure good backups for the system as it is our principal form of Navigation
Regards
Brian

Thanks for the response. I enclose a copy of the report while Acronis was plugged in and the Icon at the bottom right of the screen stated Preparing to Backup. I will send a further post with a second report during the back up process on another post - the second report took almost 15mins to produce and the machine froze for most of the time

Dear Brian,
Thank you for the information attached, I really appreciate your cooperation!
I've checked the logs, and can see that it indicates errors on your drives. Could you please do the following?
- Go to Start -> Run -> cmd
- In the console that will open please issue the following command:
chkdsk /f /r - Reboot the machine
Upon booting Windows will check the disks for errors, and fix them if any. It should resolve the issue.
If the issue remains, please regather the Acronis report and send it to us directly alongside with the Acronis Info from the problem machine.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!

I ran chkdsk both for the internal drive and the external backup drive. The internal drive is fine but the back up drive would not run using both the computer to which it is normally connected and my emergency computer (which ran it OK yesterday!). From this I gather the drive is NBG. Many thanks for your assistance I will get a new external drive and restart non stop back up
Thanks again
