Requirements to move ATIH v11 (NOT 2011) to another system?

Thread needs solution

What is required to move my copy of Acronis True Image Home v11 to a different system?

Any De-/Re-activation procedures?

I just built a new box (Win7Ultimate 64bit) and will probably want to move my ATIHv11 from its original location, a box that I built in early 2008 (VistaUltimate 32bit).

Thank you.

You are supposed to uninstall your version on your old computer, so that you use one license of ATI per computer you backup.
ATIv11 is not supposed to support Win7. Make sure your backups are still working and that you recovery CD is still working also.

Thanks, Pat!

So ... no special hoops thru which one must jump other than to simply uninstall and then reinstall. Excellent!

Once I get system responsibilities (and data/proggies) shifted, I plan on wiping the Vista system HDD and doing a fresh reinstall to see if I can get some of the lingering bugs squashed prior to repopulating the system. Even if I decide to not try my v11 on the new Win7 system, I will need to reinstall it on the refreshed Vista system, so, either way, the info is of value to me. :-)

Has anyone reading this tried installing & using v11 on a 64b Win7 system?

Thanks!

Some people did try TI 11 on Windows 7. If I remember correctly, it did kind of work for some. However, different builds behaved differently and had different problems. Also, as Windows 7 was updated, new problems appeared. Some people also had serious problems removing TI 11 and/or getting a compatible version installed.

It is not recommended to install TI 11 in any version of Windows 7.

Thank you, MC!

You have convinced me to leave my ATIv11 paired with my Vista system and seek another backup solution (possibly Acronis) for the new Win7 box.
