Outlook Email backups - "The last backup has failed"
Hello All,
I am running Acronis True Image Home 2011 Update 2 build 6857 with Windows 7 SP1 x64 and Outlook 2007 (non-exchange). My PSTs are password protected.
I've attempted to backup my email several times, but ATI reports "The last backup has failed." Upon doing some searching, I found the colored alerts under the tasks may not always be updated properly, so I checked the log.
I see the process task kick off, but it never completes, fails or anything. All the log entries are within a few seconds of each other.
Letting it run for a day, doesnt result in anything. I do see a 2 Gig backup file created on the destination partition, but I have nothing to indicate the backup was complete, or sucessful.
Has anybody else encountered this before?
Thank you in advance for any assistance provided.
Best Regards

Please note partitions F & G are on an external eSATA drive. G (as does F), have ample free space.

As you can see from the logs, the backup does not complete.

Hello Pat,
Thank you for the reply.
Most of my attempts have been with Outlook closed. I even try rebooting the machine and attempt backing up without ANYTHING else running.
I am able to backup the PST files seperately, but it's not really how the email backup function is supposed to work.
It sucks to have to pay for a support ticket because a function of the software does not work. Doubt they refund if it is found to be a software defect...
Are there any known limitations to email backup?
Thank you,
Gavin

Gavin,
Acronis will probably reimburse the PPI fee if there is a bug in the software.
There have been several problems with email, and some of them got fixed. So I am not surprised you have an issue with this. I didn't track them one by one, though, so I cannot be more precise.
