True Image Home for Mac

Thread needs solution

Hi,
does True Image Home 2010 run on MAC OS X 10.6, or is there special version for MAC available?

TI won't run natively on a MAC, it should if you have a dual boot version with Windows, but it doesn't understand MAC disk format, so will always make a sector by sector image.

I thought MAC's came with Time Capsule?

No.

Here's what I do as a fellow Mac user:

Buy Pocket Shirt software's SuperDuper! from: http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/

Or for free, get Carbon Copy Cloner: http://www.bombich.com/

If you're a dirty Hackintosh user, I can't help you.

Hello all!

Thanks for your interest in Acronis True Image Home!

Unfortunately at the moment officially we do not support Mac OS. And bodgy is absolutely correct (thank you!): you can image Mac OS only in case

  1. you have the dual boot system (Windows + Mac)
  2. you are booting from the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and perform the sector-by-sector backup

Though according to the Product Management Team we have the Mac OS backup product in project, and we are working on it, but still there are no time frames when we have it released.

We highly appreciate any suggestions regarding the product that should support Mac OS, so feel free to share your expectations with us!

Thank you.

wow - that's really good news!

note, that mac users have time-machine for backups, that works really good if one has a file-error or any other accident.
trueimage's functions on a mac don't have to be that complicatetd as in the actual 2010 home for pc.
full harddisk backups in case of swapping harddisks will be the main use of ti, i think ...
windows-partitions are not the mainly used systems on a mac, often only installed for testing puposes or rare used programmes.

so, please - make it simple, stable - and quick ;-)

i will be the first to buy it ...

any news?
millions of macs are waiting ... ;-)

still no news ...

i will visit acronis at cebit in march - hope i get news there ... ;-)

Doesn't Apple require all commercial programs for Mac's to be sent to them for rigurous testing before being allowed on the open market?

If that is the case that'd delay the release.

No, that's not the case at all for Mac programs. You're thinking of the iPhone.

If and when you come out with a version for MAC, I will buy the current version. I have 2009 and 2010, but can't use either one of them since I switched to a MAC 18 months ago. The only request I'd make is to please incorporate the ability to make separate backups of the MAC OS and Windows via BOOTCAMP. Prefer to run everything on the MAC side, FWIW.

Time Machine is great if you are backing up the MAC partition. However, for those of us who use both MAC OS X and Windows 7 via bootcamp partition, there aren't many good options for doing a reliable backup and image of the bootcamp partition. That's all I want. Of course, TI would be more valuable if it were a one-stop shop, offering to do what Time Machine does + bootcamp imaging.
