The selected file is not an Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console Archive

Thread needs solution

Hopefully one last issue. I have had issues with network adapters. Now finally fixed with some special ISO images. Unfortunately they are on two separate cd's. That isn't so bad. After waiting for 5 hours for the image to create on a network drive and the process validating it as "Good" I go to try and deploy this new image....

Navigate to tib file. Find it and select it. I get the message above.

What do I need to do to have this work the first time every time?

Please help.

Matthew.

Hello Matthew,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

According to this error message, it appears that the backup is corrupt. I understand, that the validation was performed successfully, but we have to consider your backup location, which is on a network. It is very likely that some data became corrupt during the transfer.

The best way to resolve this issue is to move the .tib file to a different location. Also, I can recommend this troubleshooting guide for corrupt backups, there are additional ways you can fix this.

Let me know if you have any other issues or questions please and I will be glad to resolve them.

Thank you.

I've tried everything. cd's, DVD's network drive, thumb drive, external drive.....

None work. perhaps the version of image maker is too old compared to the version of snap deploy?

Case # 00622940

I'm running the latest build of snap deploy. I have no idea the version of image creator was given to me.

I was willing to give this a shot since I was finally getting some results. But, now this is just ridiculous. A process to image a drive shouldn't take 2 weeks to complete. I've waited for hours and hours for this product to finish and verify.....No luck. I split the images into each partition. Still no valid archive found.

Please verify that the version of image creator I have works with the latest build of snap deploy.

Dear Matthew!

Thank you for keeping us posted! I completely understand your concern and how this situation is upsetting, but I'm sure we are able to fix it. Most probably you are correct, kernel version of the bootable media Experts have provided you with differs from the previous version, but we can find a workaround as well.

Since all the information is already at the Experts team I have sent the speed up request - they will check all the data and find a solution.

Please let us know in case there is any procrastination with the reply from the Experts team or you have any further concerns - we will be glad to help you!

Thank you.

I've sent several emails to Dennis with no reply. The owner and President of our company sent this email and it bounced back...

Dennis,

I am the owner and President of Field Fusion, Inc. Over the past 3 weeks, my associate has been working with you and your company to try and get snap deploy working to suit our needs. Besides the initial investment into Snap Deploy, Mathew has spent an unbelievable amount of time getting this to work in the simplest environment. We purchased this product with the knowledge that it would work as described. Our needs are very straight forward and are clearly within the operational parameters that Snap Deploy is meant to work in. There are either 2 options for this situation. Either the software doesn’t work and the marketing behind it is a deception or the product wasn’t tested properly before being offered to the market.

I cannot convey how frustrated I am with this process and we need it resolved now. We are a software development company just like you. I completely understand the software industry but we have yet to get this product to work in the most basic way. This must change now as I need this solution to work for my business.

Please provide a synopsis on what your plans are to get this working and the time frame I can expect this to happen.

Thank you,

Tim Scheutzow

I too have the same error when trying to restore a few images. What are these " addition ways you can fix this" details you mention?

Chris

Hello Chris Muncy and Matthew Swyrydenko

Thank you for your post. I will gladly assist you with your questions.

Matthew, I am very sorry for the inconvenience, we have forwarded your post to our Expert team, please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Chris,

You can try checking the memory on your machine, change your backup location, try creating a backup differently, from either Windows or the bootable CD. If none of he steps help, depending on how you created the backup, please collect the necessary information and submit a support request.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi,

It's seems like I have the same problem as Matthew...

When I'm creating an image disk on a hard drive backup location (Network or USB), the validation was performed successfull !
But when I want to create a new template from this image with Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console, I have the error message below :
"The selected file is not an Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console archive"

Hello Jean,

Thank you for the follow-up.

To get around the error message - "The selected file is not an Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console archive" I can recommend to uninstall the following 2 Acronis Snap Deploy 3 Components, because most likely this issue is caused by the incompatibilities between the updated bootable files and them:

1. Acronis Snap Deploy 3 Management Console.

2. Acronis Snap Deploy OS Deploy Server.

After that, please re-install them and the issue should be resolved.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

I also have this problem along with several others after having updated to the 3501 build. The steps outlined above by Anton did not correct the archive message for us.

Hello Brett,

Thank you very much for the follow-up.

If my previous suggestion did not fix the issue I would recommend to contact our Support team directly.

We will need to know the exact steps before the error and where the image is located.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
