removable disk as backup source
Hi
This question is not about the backup of any system disk (c:\), but my personal data disk.
I work similar to people carrying a USB-flash-drive: working at different desktop-PCs in different places of my city. I want to have my data always with me. I do not boot from this drive, but have all my data on it.
On each PC I am working are installed:
Acronis True Image Home 2011.
a backplane to insert my data disk
in case yesterday I worked on another PC I insert my SATA data disk before booting
Please have a look at enclosed sketches to understand my question.
Regards from sunny Munich, Germany

Thanks Pat for the reply. That is great news for me.
Just another curios question for my technical comprehension:
Originally I assumed that Acronis would work in the background and log each change of the source-disk. That is wrong.
Correct is:
Acronis would rescan the complete source-disk each time before starting a differential backup.
Did I get it right?

Pat L wrote:Friedrik,
You can continue your differential chains on each computer. Each backup chain on each computer is independent from the other.
Thanks Pat.
Again another question:
Would this scheme also work with incremental backup chain?

Yes it would.
