Disable all True Image services and applications

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Is there a way that I can disable all True Image applications and Services?

I'm wanting to do this, because I’ve run into some problems with the stability of Windows since installing True Image Home 2012. I don’t know that True Image is the cause, but I want to rule it out.

The problems I’m seeing is applications losing focus every 20 seconds or so, until I reboot. And occasional complete system lockups.

The backups that I have run complete successfully. The removable drive that I back up to is often not available, and I’m suspicious that True Image is not “behaving” when the drive is not present.

Thanks,
Peter

easiest way to selectively disable services or start up programs or both is to use msconfig.exe

it's always best to not disable any MIcrosoft services. With most versions of Win, when you use msconfig, there is a checkbox to hide microsoft services.

One starting point in troubleshooting would be to disable services on these two items if you do not plan on using the two options.
Acronis NonStop
Acronis sync agent

You can and should disable the "Acronis Sync Agent Service" as it leaks one handle per second and is likely the cause of your stability issues. I'm disappointed they have not fixed it yet.

Win XP Pro Acronis 2012
On startup (see Windows event viewer|System) I get a Service Control manager entry:
The Acronis Sync Agent Service service hung on starting. (Event ID 7022)
I have disabled Acronis Sync Agent Service and Acronis Nonstop Backup Service through Windows Service Manager
Hopefully that will improve stability.
