error "This is not the last volume of the backup archive"

Thread needs solution

Dear,
I setup a scheduled, chained disk backup. It backs up on a NAS drive.
When ATIH 2011 starts the backup, it pops up an error "operation failed" (I'm not so sure of the exact wording anymore).
When I click the "Back up now" button, it produces an error message: "This is not the last volume of the backup archive"
I can browse to the NAS drive with a windows explorer.
The log contains an event: "Failed to prepare data stream. Check whether the source and target partitions exist."
I believe that the last tib file got corrupt when I forced a shut down of my computer, although a message in the shut down window told me to wait for a process to finish. I guess that that process was the backup process.

Any advice is welcome.

This comment is just to let you know what solution I found:
- I changed the extension of the last TIB file
- launched ATIH 2011
- clicked the back up now button
ATIH started the backup without error message this time.

It is not clear though whether a restore will work smoothly with this set of backup files.

therefore, I will start all over again. And then remove the "old" backup files.

bye

YOu could try doing a Validate. If Validate works, then it's 99% sure that the backupset would work in a restore.
