Can I use online back up to back up data held on a network storage device?

Thread needs solution

I've been using True Home for some years through various versions. I now run the 2011 version on Windows XP.
I'm now attracted by the idea of storing data in a remote location. However, I keep my music and photos on a networked Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ box. Although this appears as a lettered drive in Explorer on my PC, it does not appear as a possible source drive for back up in True Home. The various USB drives attached to my PC do appear and all lettered drives, including the NAS, are available as back up target destinations in True Home.
Am I right to assume that True Home will not allow me to copy the NAS data to Online Backup or is there a simple solution to this?

I've been on to Acronis chat and for those that are interested the answer, disappointingly, is no: Acronis cannot back up network shares. Since people increasingly use NAS for storage, it would seem to be a sensible development if Acronis were to address this issue.

Why not use Acronis True Image 2012 for that instead? Acronis Online Backup has the word "Online" in it.

Not sure I understand what you're saying. I want to back up data held on my NAS to the Cloud. Neither Acronis 2012 nor Online Backup will do this. Acronis will back up the host PC's internal drives and any USB attached drives to the Cloud but not any shared volumes sitting on other hardware networked to the host PC.

Oh I see what you mean now. I was looking at it the other way around. Back to a NAS. My bad.
