I want to switch Windows 7 OS to new disk
Hi all -
My objective: Switch Windows 7 OS from slower C drive to faster disk partition. The target partition (F) is on a physical drive that has another partition (L).
Can I do this with TIH 2011?
I have tried to clone the C drive to the F drive but TIH does not give me that choice. The target drives listed only the full physical drives. It shows L and F drives together, but I can't select just the F drive. The L drive has files I need to keep.
I also tried to recover/restore my C drive to the F drive. Same issue. I cannot select the F drive as a target.
I thought a separate partition should be treated for all intents and purposes as a completely separate drive, but it looks like I am wrong.
I am certainly open to and would welcome suggestions.
Thanks, Eliot

Thanks Pat- I almost have it. I have everythig backed up in case I mess it up.
Actually, I think I am missing something. I am not sure precisely what you mean by the last phrase in:
"Then, take your current C:\ disk out of the system, save your current other disk at the same spot as C:\ disk was"
Specifically when you say "save your current other disk " what exactly is my "current other disk" in this scenario?
Thanks again.

Sorry, I didn't type what I meant!
Take you current C:\ disk out of the system, place your new disk at the same spot as C:\ disk was (same connectors, same BIOS settings)
