Is it 100% guarantied that data on partition with data will not be lost?

Thread needs solution

My hdd has 2 partitions (partition with data and partition with os and installed programs). I cloned (cloned with acronis true image 9) partition with os and installed programs. Now I want restore from archive. Is it 100% guarantied that data on partition with data will not be lost?

There are no guarantees. Much will depend upon the skill of the user to make sure and not make any mistakes.

If you boot from the CD and want to restore only the system partition, then select only the system partition as the target and the data partition should remain untouched.

Most certainly, you should have or make a backup of your data partition before you do any any restore to the same disk.

When restoring from the CD, the final screen is a summary screen and it will tell what is to occur which is to delete C and then create C--with no mention of the data partition.

If the summary does not look correct, then choose the cancel option, otherwise, click proceed to begin the restore. The restore will delete any old data on the target partition and place the backup data within the new target partition.
