True Image Home 11 restored image is twice the size on the restored drive as the original drive
To ready a drive for the installation of Windows 7, I imaged it (currently containing XP Pro) and cloned it to another drive to have a working back up should there be issues with Win 7. The contents on the "new" drive was approximately twice the size of the of the contents of the source drive. While the drive is more than large enough to handle it, it seems that I have approx. 33 Gigs of wasted space. What did I do wrong?

What format is the partition using (FAT32, NTFS, etc.)?
What are the sizes of the two drives and the two partitions?
If you Mount the backup image, what's the total size of the data inside? Does it match the source partition (the original) or does it match the restored partition (double the amount)?

Sorry I didn't provide enough information.
The original hard drive is a 250GB formatted into 2, 125GB partitions. The "new" drive is a 160 GB. Both are formated in NTFS. I used the features on the Acronis DVD to move the files, so I did not restore from an image as I had some issues earlier in doing so. The image I have (but did not use) is the size of the source data. I did a comparison of a few of the files and directories and they were the same on both HDs.

To add to the previous post, the image/ transfer was made from only the primary partition of the 250GB drive to the 160GB drive.
Thanks.

I missed that it was a clone.
Are you seeing double files?
Is Windows reporting double the space used or is the space used correct and it's just saying there's less available space?
How do the total number of files on each partition compare?
Have you run a chkdsk /f on the partitions to check for any errors?
Are you using the latest build of TI 11 (8,101 or later)?
Could you post some screenshots to show what you're seeing?

It appears to me that Windows is reporting double the space.
I looked at each drives contents (reviewing the numbers of and sizes of the files and directories and contents of some of the directories on both old and new drives) and the space used is the same. However, in the new drive's "Properties" the difference in space used was double that in the old drive's "Properties."
I ran chkdsk /f and the problem remains.
The image made (but not used) was with version 8101, however, the clone was made using the original CD, so it was a previous version.
Sorry but I don't know how to attach screenshots.
At this point it may be better to just try the clone again or use the smaller for the Win 7 installation rather than spending the time to troubleshoot this as the clone drive is also appearing to have some issues with periodic software errors.
Thanks for your help MudCrab.
