Cannot run backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a backup scheduled however lately it didn't work automatically anymore. Errors were:

Failed to prepare data stream. Check whether the source and target partitions exist.

Failed to prepare data stream. Check whether the source and target partitions exist.

Failed to read data from the disk.
Failed to read from sector '128' of hard disk '4'.
Failed to read the snapshot manager drive. (0x1000D7)
Unknown status. (0x9)
Die Anforderung konnte wegen eines E/A-Gerätefehlers nicht ausgeführt werden (0xFFF0): ⎂Retry/⎂Ignore/Ignore ⎂All/⎂Cancel

Failed to open data stream.

...on several days. Sometimes it started and would show 'calculating' forever. I started it manually several times, however very often I had to specify the location of the latest incremental backup (which actually shouldn't exist cause I had an error message).
Now I deleted some of the recent incrementals because I didn't trust them anymore. When I hit "backup now" nothing happens anymore. What is going on? What can I do?

Your install of ati is liekly gone wonky.

run a chkdsk onthe disk. if prob persisits, try repair install; if prob persists, try uninstatall/reinstall

Thanks. Is there a possibility to run chkdsk from within ATI or do you mean the stock Windows tool? Do you mean the disk where ATI is installed or the backup destination?

Whichever is givng the trouble.

I mean the windows chkdsk program, ru it with "/r"

Hi, the whole backup is still very unreliable. Is it (generally) a problem that I installed ATI in a non-Administrator account?
