Backup Corrupted
I have used TI Program for many years without a problem. Regrettably I have been forced to purchase 2012 version because my earlier version does not support Windows 7. I have now completed several supposedly successful backups using the latest program; these have been validated. However now when I view them, under each one is stated 'The Backup is Corrupted'. Why is this? If I now right click on those backups and validate, they show as OK. Highly confusing! HELP. Can I rely on the latest version of this program??

tuttle wrote:That error message covers a multitude of situations, many of which have nothing to do with file corruption. For example:
- problem with communication between ATI and external drive containing the .tib image. (due to problems with external drive, problems with cable, etc.)
- disk errors.
- wrong version of ATI used to validate image created with newer versions (e.g. trying to use ATI 2010 to validate image created with 2012)Run chkdsk to deal with disk errors, check connection to external drive (if applicable), etc. IOW, your file may not be corrupt, but there may be other reasons why you cannot validate it at the moment. And try validating from the bootable Recovery Media.
The point is that I CAN validate each backup that states that it is corrupted! I am sure that each backup is fine but it is most disconcerting for the backups to be labelled 'corrupted'! Never with any of the earlier TI versions did this happen.

To be safe, I would boot from Recovery Media and try to restore a few files, just to satisfy myself that my backups were still useful in case of emergency.

It does worry me that this 2012 version may be flaky and thus not reliable. Perhaps instead of bringing in new features better to concentrate on reliability!
