Disk Mirroring

Thread needs solution

Hello Larry,

Thank you for finding time to open a thread regarding this question.

It actually depends on what scenario you would like to achieve. Acronis True Image Home 2012 support the following operations with the hard drive, that might help you to achieve your goal:

  1. Cloning
Generally, you can clone the existing hard drive to the new one either resizing the partitions during the operation, or leaving it as is. Please find more information here.
Though clone can be performed from within Windows, we strongly recommend to use it only when booting from the bootable CD. (Which you can also create by downloading it from your account, and burning it onto the CD)
In case you're using a laptop, please check these instructions: Cloning Laptop Hard Disk
  2. Backup and Restore
The result will be similar to cloning. It will take more time (as you need to perform 2 operations), but you will also have an image saved for emergency recovery in case your machine crashes.
Please find more details about backup, and recovery here.
You can also find our MVP GroverH User Guides to be very useful: How to Backup 2012 Within Windows, and GroverH's new backup and restore guides.

I'm sure we would be able to provide you with additional information, if you could specify us the details of the scenario you'd like to achieve.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

If you mean real-time mirroring, like RAID, then no, Acronis True Image is not designed to do that.
