Can tib to be recovered to vmware virtual machine?

Is it possible to recover Acronis tib image to vmware run on XP?
Purpose would be installing vmware PC running on XP and create one virtual machine.
Next recovering there a Opensteb PC tib.
The Tib image is created from 6 years old Openstep 4.2 (nextstep) op system PC.

Running recovered image directly on present day PC hardware is problematic.

Of course it's possible, you will ge a sector-by-sector copy of the original disk. Another question is if it will run on the new hardware with old drivers.
