Acronis as an alternative to OEM clean install recovery solution?

Thread needs solution

I have a Samsung R440 notebook which brought Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) installed (OEM).
The first time I used it, an application called Samsung Recovery Solution popped up and recommended me to create a recovery partition in the disk to store a clean image of Windows install.
It proved to be very useful and I have already used it once, but the result is that I have four partitions as a result of it:
1) RECOVERY (explained above)
2) SYSTEM (I don't know what this is)
3) C: (Windows and program files)
4) D: (My Documents)

Now I'd like to try and install other operative systems on my notebook. I have already done a multi-boot install on another computer at home (Windows + Linux), so I know I'll need at least two partitions for Linux, and I'd still like to have a partition separated for Documents.

Now I wonder if I can store that clean install in a few DVDs using Acronis (True Image, I suppose), so that I don't have to keep the RECOVERY partition (and make use of the extra 20 GB space it consumes).

Do you know if what I'm trying to do is possible with Acronis, and if it is, how?
I'll be more than glad to buy it if I'm sure that it will work!

Thanks in advance

I do this with netbook running windows starter. I imaged the whole thing out of the box, upgraded from Starter to Home Premium and updated to current date, imaged it again, and now I have the option of restoring everything back to two different states.

I can be sure that you can save a copy of the recovery partition, and that you can restore it, but I would only be sure that it would boot if you restored it back to the drive with mbr. The recovery image may wipe the entire drive, so this may not be a real limitation. But I would not expect to restore that recovery partition after the linux partitions.
