AB backup files compatible with ATI 2014

Thread needs solution

I am using ATI 2014, which lacks the option to set a number of incremental backups, making one differential and creating incremental backups, and so forth, and keeping only a max of incremental and differential versions.

I read AB should support this.

Are the backup files the same for AB 11.5 and ATI 2014? Do I have to start all over backup-ing?
Can I install both products simultaneously on Windows 7? I will disable ATI sheduling.

You can't install Acronis backup while ATI is running in your system as it works with same services you have to uninstall ATI first to install Acronis backup. AB will support ATI Backup files as both. You can still use this files for restore purpose. once you install AB I recommend you to take fresh full backup and schedule incremental backup

Note: Don't take long chain of Inc backups as it not recommended. I personally recommend create full backup every 2 weeks. Great feature in AB is retention rules either you can delete old backup or you can consolidate all backups into single file

Hi Bhanu,

thank you for helping!

Franz, the only thing to add here that even though backups created with Acronis True Image usually can be recognized and recovered by Acronis Backup products, we don't support such scenarios officially since they are not tested in our labs. Here you'll find the table illustrating backup archive compatibility.

Thank you.
