Backup Plan for Mobile Users
I am evaluating Acronis Backup Advanced for workstation/laptop backups.
Computers will be backing up to a LAN Vault.
My concern is that if a workstation is turned off, or a laptop off site. The backup job will fail.
In this scenario I would like the computer to observe its backup was missed/failed and initiate one.
I could solve this particular problem by using "On Startup" rules. But this would not work for computers that are on at all times.
Are there provisions for this?

Thank you for your reply.
If a job contained 1 system and was flagged for backup (time sense last backup > 1 = true). How often will it reattempt the job?
If a job contains 2 systems and one is flagged for backup, and one is not. What will it do?

Conditions and schedules are processed only on the agent. Not sure how it behaves for partially completed backup of many VMs in case of agentless backup, but it is not your case. So each agent will look at its own backup and decide.
Then, it appears that a task *scheduled* by 'time since last successful backup' will not start at all the second time if the first one failed, as it fires only once and only since successful backups, and doesn't reattempt after failure. So it should not be used, sorry for misleading. *Condition * with the same name will behave as expected - run as scheduled only when condition is met.
