Backup Sizes Getting Exponentially Larger
I'm having trouble with backup sizes getting out of control on two computers running Acronis Backup 11.5. We currently have it deployed on about 50 machines running Windows 7, and we import the same XML task file on all machines.
In a nutshell, the task runs a full backup three days a week to a secondary internal hard drive. It keeps the two most recent backup (tib) files and purges anything older before taking a new backup.
The tib file sizes should be approximately 30-40 GB, but they are much larger on these two computers. The older backup is 140 GB and the newer one is 235 GB. The drive storing the backup files is only 500 GB, so the task fails when creating the third backup.
My first thought was that Acronis was saving the tib file on the drive being backed up. However, I verified that the space used on the drive being backed up is similar to the space used on machines that are being backed up as expected.
There's only 40 GB of data being backed up, so why are the backup files getting so large? Any help is greatly appreciated.
