Client isn't able to find the licence server and can't register

Thread needs solution

Hi,

we are using Acronis Backup 11.5 and we are having the problem that our Debian machine isn't able to find the licence server. And if you type in the licence key manually the Debian machine isn't able to register at the management server – or it takes hours.

There is no error message.

The debian machine and the licence server/management server are situated in different subnets, but communication between these two maschines is allowed and it works fine.

If we try to register the client through the management server after the installation, it fails too.

If the debian machine is in the same subnet then the installation and registration works perfect.

Any ideas?

Hello,

This is probably caused by name resolution problems. By default, the License Server is added using the host name of the server. If this name can't be resolved by the debian agent machine, you'll get this behaviour.

Please follow the instructions in this KB article  to register the license server by its IP address instead of host name.
