Consolidated and Encrpyted Backup - Can't see previous versions of file
Hi,
we have a Simple backup setup with retention rules to delete backups older than 10 days. This results (after 10 days) in a single consolidated backup being produced each night. So we only ever have 1 archive in our vault.
We have encryption setup on the backups and find that because of this we cannot view the archive in Data View, only in Archive View. As a result we don't seem to be able to access the previous 9 days worth of backups which should be contained within that consolidated backup.
Is there a solution to this?
Regards
Mike

Fedor,
looks like I posted too soon.
The previous backup job had been running for 27days (effectively hung) and it wasn't until the server rebooted itself on Tue that the previous backups were deleted (all now older than 10 days) and a single new archive (Full backup_ was created on the Wed. So there would be nothing worth consolidating in terms of the 10 day retention. My bad.
Now we have two backups in the archive (1 x Full and 1 x Inc) so I think ABR is working OK after all.
We have seen this happen a few times with backup jobs running for days or even weeks. Our monitoring software doesn't seem to pick this up (it's not a failed job at this point). Is there any kind of timeout option in ABR 11.5 like in Backup Exec (stop job if not complete after 24hrs)?

There is no such capability to kill a task by timeout at the moment.
Currently we investigate possibility to introduce such feature in the next version of the product.
