Failed to lock the disk

Thread needs solution

During cloning disk, sata (160GB )-->sata (500GB) message "failed to lock the disk".
How to fix this?

To answer this question, I need more detailed information about the environment:

  • Source Disk: Is it internal/external SATA/SAS/SCSI etc?
  • Targed Disk: Is it internal/external SATA/SAS/SCSI etc?
  • The cloning is done with the Acronis bootable media?

So I looked at the a Acronis website for help and it says under investigation no solution. The reason for this is if the clone recognizes multiple types of disks. Such as dynamic and a basic especially if basic is being chosen as the source.
