iSCSI Question
We are updating our storage solution shortly (within a month most likely). One of things we are going to be doing is updating from NFS based SAN to iSCSI based SAN.
We are setting up our iSCSI SAN in such a way that we have redundant failover to another storage array. This means of course we will have a secondary IP address and so forth. Additionally, our Windows File server will have an iSCSI SAN attached to it.
VMWare supports the ability to set up the iSCSI SAN such that it uses one of the IP Addresses as the primary storage. It will ONLY use the 2nd address if something goes wrong and we need to failover to our duplicated SAN.
So, my question is this. with ABR's LAN Free Backup, is it possible to set up Acronis in such a way that it uses a specific IP address (in this case the secondary IP) all the time for backups? This way, we effectively have a separate backup network which will never impact our production environment unless there is a failover (which will hopefully happen rarely).
This breeds the opportunity to be more efficient with our backups. I can get the Acronis Virtual Appliances to back up more VMs at one time (I currently only have it set to 2 per appliance). And let backups continue longer if required without impacting the production environment.
Any information and pointers are greatly appreciated.
