Network Settings Auto Configure or NOT?

Thread needs solution

Hello Everyone,

I was hoping somebody could shed some light on my inquiry. Im trying to do a recovery using a bootable media. The machine under booatable media has 4 NIC's but only ONE has a physical connection to the switch and then to the Management Server. I tried to ping the NIC that is physically connected and got a reply. I tried the other NIC's with Disconnected cables but I still had a reply after doing a ping which should have no reply as there is NO physical connection.

Is there something wrong with my configured network settings? Should I tick the Auto Configure on the NIC's that is Physcally Disconnected (Status: Disconnected)? If i have no DHCP server on the network, should there be an issue if I tick on Auto Configure?

thanks in advance...

Hello ngage bott,

thank you for your posting and welcome to Acronis Forum!

Network settings can be configured automatically only if there is a DHCP server in the network. However, you always have the ability to configure the network settings manually when the bootable agent is running on the machine.

As for your case, could you please provide some screenshots to illustrate the situation?

Thank you in advance!

Not only if you have DHCP, you should also check that the MAC address for the same NIC you are using is registered.
But, to be sure, do it manually.
