New Backups - UNC vs Direct NAS IP

Thread needs solution

Hello All,

I'm currently struggling when my Acronis Product in relation to setting this to a UNC Path.

I've taken over this system from a previous administrator, and it seems like the trouble started when we changed our storage structure from on-site storage to a cloud based solution (Nasuni). Backups that were set up previously using this UNC path seem to have no issue.

However, whenever I try to set up a new backup using this path, it seems like neither my account nor my service account (Both with explicit access to all of these folders, full control) is able to log into the vault associated with the UNC path. I can navigate on the same system to this area via Windows Explorer and create/move/delete whatever I want.

If I put in the direct path to the NAS (Using an IP) I can get in with no issue and am able to perform backups. Obviously IP's change, and I'd like to be able to use the UNC path. Has anyone had any similar experiences or have any suggestions for why this may not be working?

Thanks

One possible cause is a DNS issue on the agent machine. AMS seems to pass whatever address info you give it for a vault over to the agent that performs the backup on workstation. You may be able to navigate by name from the Acronis Server to the vault, but the agent actually doing the backup may not.
