Performance Backup to iscsi Target
Hi,
i created a storage network for Backups with B&R 11.5. I have installed an Intel Dual Port Server NIC with Teaming, a Netgear GS108T Switch and a Buffalo Terastation iSCSI. The Storage has also Teaming active and the Switch as Teaming for the Server and the Storage. I copy now a 2 GB file in a few Seconds with 350 up to 500 m/bit from Server to the iSCSI Target. But the Acronis Backup task run still with 25 up to 55 m/bits like on a USB Drive. Can i configure it for more power ??
The Server has Windows 2008 64 bit Std installed. Is there any Option that i can use for a faster Backup to that iscsi target?
Thx so far, please let me know what further informations you need?...

Dear Christoph, we have the same issue.
The problem is the ISCSI protocol, it's very slow one (try to copy a large file from your local machin to the ISCSI traget and see yourself).
We check the ISCSI on Netapp, SLI, SGI, ORACLE, DELL and any other storage we have....it is slow protocol.
As we figure out, using DAS that directly connect to the server, and share the volume, is the best and fastest option.
You can also check the NFS connection (by using this solution, you are also avoiding the 64TB partition limitations).
