Recover to a new server

Thread needs solution

Have old Dell Server running 2003 R2 SP2. Want to recover it to a new Dell Server ( only has drivers for 2008 or better). I created backups of the drives using True Image Echo Server with Universal Restore 11.5 and saved them on a USB drive. Created a Bootable Rescue Media CD and boot new server with it. Select recovery from main screen and it never asks me for the Dell Perc drivers ( disk controller ). It only shows me the USB drive?

If new hardware is not supported by old OS (e.g. if manufacturer didn't provide drivers) , Universal Restore won't help. Then, it will ask for drivers only during restore, as I understand it wasn't performed?

In other words main disk (which you intend to recover on) doesn't show as the possible targets? Linux-based Acronis bootable media may have no drivers for some Dell controllers (see e.g. https://kb.acronis.com/content/8149 ) and you need to create WinPE-based bootable media instead.

Dell R320 with H3100 perc controller ( only 2008 or 2012 server supported, not 2003 ). How do I create a winpe-based boot media for this server?

Creating WinPE based media is pretty straightforward if you have required drivers (for the media itself) in .inf/.sys format , it 's described in the user guide and in KB, https://kb.acronis.com/content/41723 . But it won't help you as the old OS won't work on the new hardware without necessary drivers after restoration.
