Recovery in TRIAL mode

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm evaluating this for a customer. I need to backup and restore to a smaller volume.

The trial mode restrictions state that recovery is available via the bootable recovery CD (or USB).

I've created a disk backup and chose recovery via the OS and all seems fine, but as I wish to restore the system partition, well the enire disk I expect I'll need to do so outside the OS. When I boot to the recovery Linux USB and point the restore to the backup location is says that there is no backed up data..

I tried just a file backup thinking maybe it was restricting full disk restores but had the same result. Just won't see any Acronis backup files.

Looking online I can see in the pictures showing the boot media initial screen, choosing x86 or x64 options, it says "backup and restore". On my boot media, created under trial license, it says only "backup" on this selection screen.

Is this as intended, or am I missing something obvious?

I expect I will need to purchase a license to achieve the volume resize via the Universal Restore, but just wanted to try a basic restore to see how it works. The fact that the limitations page clearly states under "Functionality from Bootable Media" - "only the recovery funtionality is available", yet I am unable to restore, isn't overly inspiring.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David.

Hello David,

Thank you for your posting! A trial bootable media of Acronis Backup products should provide only recover functionality. I would suggest creating a new bootable media. If the issue persists, please PM me, I will send you a direct link to the trial media.

Thank you,
