Restore two partitions

Thread needs solution

I have two partitions on my server. Drive C which has OS and programs and Drive D which has all my data. I created two full backups. one for drive C only and one for drive D only. How do I do a restore using a boot cd and get both of the partitions back on the computer. I'm gesssing that I might have to create the second partition after restoring the os and then restroring drive D.

Would appreciate any input

If you recover to an empty disk, you can choose resulting partition size for the first partition so that there will be free space after it to accommodate the second one. When recovering to the unallocated space, new partition is created automatically.

Thank you for that information. I would like to ask another question if I may. Since I wrote the post I have changed up my backup scheme a bit. As mentioned before I have two partitions to backup up. One is the main drive which boots into the OS and the second is simply data. So I wlll be making two backups. One for the boot partition as a disk backup and one for the data partition as a file backup. I understand from your post that I can set the boot partition size to a portion of the entire drive. But what happens when I attempt to restore the data file backup. will it automaticaly create the second partition in that case.

thank again for you help

No, for the file backup you need to create the partition yourself - either in 'disk management' tool of the product, or in Windows (since it's bootable after restoration of the system partition). In either case you can restore the file backup from the boot cd or from Windows..
