Safely Removing USB Hard Drives

I found a little utility by the same company that makes USBDLM which will safely remove (eject) the USB hard drive. I put it in the post backup commands to run.

The problem is that since it is ejected the logs reflect errors when updating the catalog since the drive is no longer there. It seems to me that updating the catalog should be included as part pf the job and that the "run after backup" is going off a little premature.

Has anyone else tried Safe Removal of USB hard drives and encountered this problem?
