The older version had a very obvious record of when backup schemes were completed. I believe they were even labeled "Monthly, Weekly, & Daily". Newest version seems to just show completion dates but no description.

In GFS scheme you can only detect the type of the backup by looking at its physical type "Full"- Grandfather, "Differential" - Father, "Incremental" - Son.
