Validation NEVER completes

I am using Acronis Backup 11.5 Advanced for PC Build 39029 on a Windows 8 pro platform. I am backing up to a USB 3.0 attached drive, formatted as NTFS. There is no shortage of space on the drive and it has been checked for errors using chkdsk.

Ever since upgrading to the latest build, validation NEVER completes. If I stop it manually the status indicates that the validation DID complete successfully.

My current full backup, started last night, took about 6 hours (not a problem since the backup file size is 440 GB), but the validation process has been going now for over 7 hours and the projected 'time remaining' according to the validation detail dialog, is 2 days, 22 hours.

I'm sorry, but this makes NO sense. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Are there any solutions short of removing Acronis and replacing it with something else?

Hello, This sort of issue is caused by a conflict specific to your configuration and  would require a full investigation to find the root cause. If you attach the System Report output, I can take a look at the logs to see if there is an obvious cause but I would recommend creating a support case.
