Windows 10 Clone doesnt work

Thread needs solution

Hi All

we tried to clone Windows 10 from one "Thinkpad X1 Carbon" to another "Thinkpad X1 Carbon". The Clone works well except if we choose to change the SID by Acronis 11.5 (Update 6). After the first Start we are unable to Click anything in the Start menu and after a few clicks we get a "Critical Error: Your Start menu is not working . We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in."

Any Idea anyone?

Thank you for your posting! Could you please provide us with more details on your actions:

  • Exect product version and build;
  • Are you performing a cloning or backup and restore? Please be aware that Acronis Disk Director Lite (which is responsible for disk management and therefore cloning) does not support Windows 10. More about support of Windows 10 you can find here: https://kb.acronis.com/content/56196
  • Step-by-step description of your actions

Exact product version and build: Acronis Backup 11.5 (Build 11.5.43994)
i did a backup and restore.

Steps
1. Clean new Windows 10 Install on first "Thinkpad X1 Carbon"
2. Backup of first Thinkpad
3. Restore on second Thinkpad with new SID in the Restore Options
4. Restart second Thinkpad
5. Getting the error "Critical Error: Your Start menu is not working . We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in."

The same stepts without new SID in the Options work fine.

Are there any news about this? Or a fix out of the support ticket?
Im running into the exactly same behaviour with Acronis Backup 11.7 (Build 11.5.44411) !
