Acronis Centralized Managed Vault - Occupied Space
Hi ,
I have a question about deduplication ration.
I do create a vault for DEduplication purpose,
in this vault have total 6 backup images , 5 images from same server ( 2 Full and 3 incremental ) and another 1 images from other server ( 1 Full )
From the status state in vault , total 1.331TB data is backed up , deduplication ratio is 1:4 and total occupied space is 494.0GB.
But when I check the path , it's contain about 970GB data, which is totally different than mention in the vault ( 494.4GB ).
So my question is , is it normal or there is a missing step from my side ?
Noted : already run the cataloging , indexing and compacting.....no different.

Hi Oh,
a week ago we've released Update 6 for Acronis Backup which contains many deduplication improvements.
I suggest you to perform an upgrade before we continue troubleshooting.
Please note, that you'll need to recreate deduplication database to apply new deduplication algorithm to an old vault.
Thank you.

Hi Anna ,
I'm already downloaded the new release update 6 ,
But before the update , the path sizes is return to same as the occupied space display.
Is It the indexing running background and consume a week to completed ?

Hello,
There was some sort of background task running, for example indexing or compacting. In order to tell for sure, we would need to know what sort of files (which extensions) were taking up space in the vault.
Without this information, it would be difficult to say for sure.
