Backup of SBS Data Partition Hangs on Locking Partition D:
I'm running a trial of Acronis 11.5 for SBS servers on a new Dell SBS 2011 essentials server with a Raid 1, partitioned to a C and D drive.
I finally got the C (OS) drive to image fine thanks to the folks here in Acronis Forums. But last night I created a new backup to backup the D: data partition where all user files and workstation backup files are created. Every time I run it, it hangs at 21%, Speed is only 294 KB/s. When I open the details section the last entry states: "Locking Partition D:.." and has a 7+ day completion time..!?
I have let it run as long as I can (about 8 hours) with no change. I have had to stop the process each time.
I'm backing up to an INTERNAL SATA drive, same location and Vault as the OS C: drive that completed 2 days ago. The data that I'm backing up consists of your normal files (doc, xls, pdf, jpeg, etc) plus an old act database which is propriteary (not mysql or sql or mdb) and the directory that contains the workstation backups that take place over the network via SBS laucher. but that's it. Total amount of data to be backed up is only 200GB.
What could be causing this on a 1 month old server, with a 2 week old Acronis software install after the C: drive (on the same RAID) backed up perfectly fine to the same backup hard drive (internal sata)..?
Could the workstation backup files be a problem? Should I exclude them or is there something else going on?
Thanks again for the assistance.

CPU is idle, 0 - 3 %. Disk I/O is at .5 ~ .9 MB/s with occasional spikes up to 4.5 MB/s. Also, I re ran the backup after excluding the directory where client backups are stored. So I'm just backing up files & the ACT database now. Been running for 3 1/2 hours so far. Says it has 7 days and 21 hours to go.
I stopped the backup just now, turned off VSS and started another backup. I'll update late tonight or early tomorrow if I get a different result with VSS turned off.
Thanks

No change. Backup is still running, 5 DAYS LATER.. Speed is about 400 / KBs. This is with VSS turned off. Even if disk usage was high, it wouldn't be for 5 days straight. This is strictly an internal only server. Not hosting email, websites, not even Remote Web Access.
It IS backing up though. Shows 1 1/2 days remaning so it's getting there. But, I'm at a loss. No way it should take a full 7 days to backup only 200 GB of data.
