How to back up Exchange, AD, drives etc in one job

Thread needs solution

I'ma newbie to Acronis and have a fresh installation of Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5 running on SBS 2008. I'd like to backup AD, Exchange and all the data in one image so I can do a one-click restore in the event of a disk failure. But when I select 'data to backup' it seems I only get an either/or choice for drives, files, information store or mailboxes, so it looks like I need to do it in separate jobs. Is there no 'everything including Exchange' option or am I missing something? Any advice gratefully received.

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your question! Could you please specify the exect product name you are using. In general you can alsways backup your running Microsoft applications like SQL oder Exchange with the help of Volume Shadow Copy Service. This technology allows you to create consistent backups of running databases. Here you will find detailed instructions on how to backup and restore MS applications without specific Add-ons.

However if you need to restore a single data item (email or contact), you will need to create backups using special Agents (Agent for Exchange, Agent for SQL, Agent for AD). These Agents are included in all licenses for the virtual environment + Acronis Backup for Windows Essentials. If you have Acronis Backup Advanced for Windows Server, you could get these Agents as Add-ons.

Thank you,
