Tape Library with Two drives, but ABR is only using Drive 1

Thread needs solution

Hello, I have ABR 11.5adv and a Tandberg T24 with two drives, both of which are connected via SAS to an ATTO card in my Dell NX3200 running Windows 2012. ABR seems to be generally working and making backups. Both drives show up in ABR and seem to be functional. But when I go to run a backup job, only one drive ever gets used. How can I get ABR to run the backup to two drives simultaneously to improve speed and finish the full backup job faster?

Hi,

same problem here.
We've got an IBM TS3200 with two drives and only one gets used.

Hello Everyone,

thank you for your postings and sorry for the delayed answer.

mBr@bs, as far as I see you have an open case regarding this issue.

ThisGuyRightHere, I answered you in a PM.

Thank you,

Anna

Hello Anna,

not as far as I can see.
We have opened SR's concerning acrocmd not using default backup options, including tape settings. Primarily because acrocmd is not leaving tape in the drive. Using multiple tapeDrives in a library is not mentioned there.

But thanks a lot reminding me to open a sr for this too.

mBr@bs, thank you for cooperation!

Anybody able to figure out this solution work?

Hi!  In the opened support ticket the issue was resolved through the recreation of the tape database. Let me know if the issue still persists and I'll send you instructions on how to rebuild the database. Alternatively, you may want trying to re-install the product first.
