That might be a heavy task but it's proven to work.

Hi Team,
I am also facing the same issue in Vsphere 5.5.
When i try to take backup of selected vm from Host and clusters in Navigation Pane. The Agent for VMware is being initialized ( Starting the service, connecting to the ESXi server) but failed to deploy Agent for VMware in ESXi Host it shows. But the other end in Esxi host trying to connect via vSphere client i can able to see the installation of OVF Template "AcronisESXAppliance". After some time the OVD Template is powered OFF and Pop up shows " Failed to deploy Agent for VMware".
I have attached the necessary screenshots for your reference. Could you pls clarify the issue clearly.
Thanks & Regards
Arumuga Raj

Hi Arumuga,
Looks like screen shots are missing in the attach, but I guess that you are using Acronis Backup Advanced for VMware and connecting to Acronis Management Server through the standalone console. If that's the case and the appliance fails to get deployed to ESXi 5.5 host you should try deploying it from .ovf template which is located at c:\program files (x86)\Acronis\ESXAppliance\ folder on the machine where you have installed Acronis Management Server. Check if deployment from .ovf succeeds and if yes then you can register this appliance in Acronis Management Server. If not - then check what's happening in vSphere console, i.e. whether the appliance starts up properly and contact our support team for assistance.
P.S. Make sure you are using the latest Acronis Backup Advanced build.
Thank you.

Dear Acronis team!
I follow your advice to install Applience manually. The Applience is deployed form OVF file and on. After I try to add this applience to the AMS. The Acronis AMS console showes that mashine ready to add (after a connection and credentials check). I put there root credentials.
After I press proceed button it gives next error in Acronis logs. I am sure I am using latest build of Acronis Backup 11.5 for vmWare. Any ideas?
After all I can see the ESX host in "All mashines with agents" but no VM visible at the console.
At the same time I can see that licenses added but not used at AMS console. Is the licenses are depend of language? Is it possible that I have to install Acronis on other language ether I see in my personla Cabinet in Acronis?

Hi Maxim,
The strange thing here is that on the 1st screen shot there is appliance machine added to Acronis Management Server, while you quote an error which indicates that the appliance wasn't successfully registered. I'd recommended to contact our web chat support team for assistance - likely it's some inconsistency in the setup (misconfiguration on the appliance side which you deployed manually) which can be revealed over a quick remote assistance session.
Thank you.

Hi Arumuga,
Thank you for the provided screen shots. Can you please check what are the exact errors shown at 12.png? The log should give clues on what's going wrong, i.e. why the appliance deployment failed in the first place. Also you can try deploying the appliance manually from .ovf template and then connect it to your Acronis Management Server.
Thank you.

Hi,
To update the thread - we've just figured out what happened in Maxim's environment (Maxim, thank you for letting us check it during remote assistance session). The issue in his case was caused by empty "InstanceUUID" property for all the VMs. This value is used by Acronis Backup Advanced for VMware (and by Acronis Backup for VMware too) to identify the VMs. Typically this value is not empty, but in some cases, especially when the ESXi host is not managed by a vCenter this may happen.
The solution was to add some value for InstanceUUID property for the VMs. We have the process described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/32243 (solution C). Another possible method is to change the identification scheme from InstanceUUID to UUID values as described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/38130 article.
Note that in Aurumuga's case the problem is different - so it should be analyzed separately.
Thank you.
