Acronis 12 and Windows 7 causes a BIG slowdown on startup and shutdown

Thread needs solution

hey guys,

I've just noticed that Acronis 12 when installed on a Windows 7 machine will slow down the startup and shutdown of that machine considerably.  It's not because there's backups in progress during the shutdown.  the whole startup/shutdown process just slows down.  Does anyone know what is going on here?

Hi Matthew,

We've not received reports on such problems so far. Probably the issue has to deal with some other software compatibility, so it will require investigation with help from our support team. Please remember to collect system report (select machine in Devices list ->"Activities" tab->"Collect system information") before submitting your support request.

Thank you.

This is located in Acronis, correct?  BTW this issue ALSO Applies to ATI 2016

Hi Matthew,

the System Information can be collected from the AB12 Management Web Interface, see 58301: Acronis Backup 12: Collecting System Information for reference.

There are couple of threads regarding slow boot/shutdown in ATI 2016 section.

Does the issue apply when you have no internet connection on boot and shutdown? You can turn off "Check for Updates" in ATI 2016.

Both Machines HAVE Internet connections at boot time and shutdown time (wireless)

It looks like a common Acronis component is interferring with some other software currently installed on your machines. It is hard to guess what it might be, I suggest to contact the Acronis Support directly.

The issue is NOT affected by the lack of an Internet connection, and I was unable to get the system information.  The circle just spun there and the window that would ask me where to save the file never came up.  I will be getting on the phone with the support guys soon.
