Activities logging files

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Quick question...where are the Acronis backup for Workstation v12 "Activities" logs (one of the menu items in the new Workstation v12 product) stored?  I have a number of log entries and would like to be able to delete them or compress them into a smaller file.  Operating Windows 7 (64 bit) with SP1.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

the activity logs are stored in %ProgramData%\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\Activity and an Acronis internal database, so it will not be sufficient to delete the logfiles itself.

Does it getting slow to access Activities tab?

Hi Raphael,

Thanks for getting back to me.  Not so much anything getting slower, more like not wanting to look at the same warnings/success/etc. in full page listings.  Just me being a clean freak.

You were correct about where the Activities logs are kept and removing them does not change the Activity log listing.  So where is this "internal" database hidden?

Chris

Hello Christopher,

It is possible to delete the internal log listings (and also other files so that the activities from the agents aren't resynced after the deletion), but this can cause wierd behaviour for a while while the acitity records on the agents and AMS are our of sync.

I believe the proper solution would be for us to add a "remove activities" type button, I wouldn't recommend doing it manually.

Hi,

OK, I agree...do not want weird behavior!  Should be in your next release or hotfix maybe?

Chris

Hello Chris,

The automatic cleanup for activities is in the list, however this functionality is not expected to be implemented in the nearest iterations.

Thank you,
