Backup file much smaller than expected.

Thread needs solution

I am backing up one of our SQL servers (entire system backup), it has four hard drives.

c: = 85gb in use

e: = 15gb in use

f: = 45gb in use

g: = 15gb in use

total data = ~160gb

However the .TIB file is only around 26GB in size - is this to be expected? Compression is set to the default as are most other options. I have browsed the backup job via the web interface and everything seems to be there, I just can't understand why the TIB file is so small.  I am even currently downloading the backup job via the restore facility so I can explore it off the network..

This isn't an issue as such, but just small concern..  Any ideas?

Are there data in excluded folders, including implicitly excluded like restore points under System Volume Information folder in volume root? Is the data easily compressed?
