Windows Explorer crashes

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I use Acronis Backup 12 with external USB hard drives.

After a backup, the next morning  I want to change the USB Hard Drive for a turn-over.

THen after plugging the new USB Hard Drive, the windows explorer crashes (server still available : Active Directory is OK, DHCP is OK, shares access is OK, DNS is OK, just explorer crashes).

The new USB Hard Drive is never visible on Windows. The only way to go on is a Hard reboot of ther server.

safe reboot of the server  does not work, must reboot hardly. Then after reboot USB drive is OK and backup is OK.

Never have this issue with Acronis Backup 11.5.

Any idea ? Windows issue or Acronis issue (maybe because of a service always accessing the hard drive ?).

Acronis 12

Windows 2012 (NO R2)

USB Hard Drives : Western Digital 1 To

Thx

Hi,

There are no such known issues recorded in our bugtracking system, so it should be something new. The backup destination is not accessed continuously - it's only used when the backup task is running. Likely the problem has to deal with some Windows update or specific 3rd party USB drivers. It makes sense to contact our support team for assistance with this issue.

Thank you.
