after management Server Update - An Advanced license is required.

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have upgraded my all-in-one-VMware-Appliance (Management Server) from Acronis Backup 12.5 Build: 11010 to Build: 12730.

And now I get the Message "An Advanced license is required.", if I make any changes on my backup Plan's.
The last few years I have worked well with the standard licenses!

Was there any changes in the license model?

Regards
Thomas

Hello Thomas,

welcome to Acronis forums! What changes are leading to this error message? Have you tried creating a new back plan with the same settings?

Hello,

yes, I have tried to creating a new BackupPlan.

Hello Thomas,

thank you for checking and sending screenshots! Don't see any "Advanced" features enabled in the plan settings..the last questions: are you creating a centralized backup plan (when connected to Acronis Management Server) or a local plan (connected to a particular machine with the Agent)? Centralized management is available in Advanced editions only

Thomas,

by the way, did you check that licenses are correctly assigned to the protected devices

I have similar issue with my 2 servers Exchange 2013. (crcmail6 and crcmail7 on screenshots below)

Exchange servers VMs are running in vmware cluster, Acronis Backup 12.5 Standard Virtual Host Licenses applied to the esxi hosts, Exchange servers have installed agents to monitor and backup 9-10 databases on each VM.

Since upgrade, Acronis started asking about Advanced licence for the backup plans which had worked for 2 years with no issues.
Those plans were created as Group backup plans (I think this is the clue, because after upgrade, I guess, it is considered as Clustered Exchange which available only in Advanced)

Failed plan:

As a workaround I found that plans should be recreated (impossible to fix existing plan).
Choose all databases and apply Backup instead of Group Backup

Then backup plan started as required

Hope this info will be useful, because Acronis support team opened ticked but technicians couldn't explain what has been changed in licensing model and ticket still unresolved.

Hello Everyone,

Please refer to Acronis Backup 12.5: Warning "An advanced license is required" when creating group backup plan for Microsoft applications, if you experience an issue with the similar symptoms.

Thank you!
