Cloned machines and Agents Missing in Device List

Thread needs solution

I have successfully cloned two machines from the image of the original machine. The Computer Name for each was immediately changed following initial boot. However, I suspect I have done something wrong.

When I open the Backup Management Console only one of the three will be listed in Devices; and it is not always the same one. Another symptom is I have errors and the details show that all three machines are using the same Agent name from the original machine. I suspect this is not a good thing. Do I need to change the agent name? So far I have not found a way to do this.

Any direction would be appreciated!

Hi,

Such issue can be caused by cloned machines having the same ID, please refer to https://kb.acronis.com/content/11265

Let me know, if that was helpful.

Hello Ekaterina,

Sorry for the delayed reply, I am just now getting back to this. I reviewed the KB article and there are a couple of things:

First, I do not get the error, "The machine has already been registered". The cloned machine was added successfully. However, when I subsequently open the Management Server later only one of the machines appears in the Devices list. the machines are running Win7 and the Acronis version is 12.5 (Advanced).

Second, and on another note, this link in KB article is broken:

"Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Management Server Fails with "The machine has been already registered".

Hello Don,

have you tried changing the instance ID as described in the article https://kb.acronis.com/content/11265  and adding it again? If this doesn't help, please raise a support ticket at https://www.acronis.com/en-eu/support/contact-us/ so that our engineers can conduct more in-depth investigation.

Thank you,
