Current backup running cannot cancel

Thread needs solution

Hi!

We have a client that has a running backup but stuck at a certain percent.

They have tried cancelling the backup through services but it didn't work. Tried contacting the support team of acronis but still the issue wasn't resolved.

Our last option is to re-create the AMS and a new backup plan.

Will that work or might cause an error if the current backup is running to the original ams?

Thanks!

Hi,

As far as I've checked, your support ticket has been recently escalated to our Tier 2 support team, and the investigation has to be continued since it's not yet clear what the problem might be. It could be specifics in how you apply the plans, e.g. from the screen shots I see that the plans (which are stuck) are applied to Hyper-V host itself instead of its underlying VMs. The backup plans should not be applied to both devices types (host or VM) at the same time (I'm not sure, but this might be the case in your scenario) - you need separate plan for Hyper-V host protection and separate for Hyper-V VMs protection.

If you re-install AMS, then the existing Hyper-V agent will continue trying to perform backups until it is re-connected to newly installed AMS. Once you add this agent to new AMS, the previously applied plans (from old AMS) will be revoked and deleted.

Thank you.

Yes it is one of the beautiful things in Acronis 12.5. I informed Acronis about this bug, but at the time there ist no fix

You have to do following things to stop the Job:

1. stop all Acronis services on the backupclient (the Server/Client who doesn't backup)

2. Restart Acronis Backup Server and cancel the job > wait until the job stops

3. After a successful abort, you can restart the services

good luck
